A WordPress plugin is not required to use Amazon’s Associate program, Amazon does provide affiliate links, banners and such, but the plugins are often faster, easer, and look better.

There are simple WordPress affiliate link plugins to make it easier for people to place affiliate code into a webpage; however, the plugins listed here are a little different, these plugins I am looking at are for pulling products into a website more like a store than just a link or ad on a page.

To place Amazon Affiliate code yourself requires some basic HTML knowledge, but pretty easy. Amazon Code is code but on some platforms, such as social media sites, like Facebook, you may be able to just copy and paste the code – that simple. On a WordPress website using the WP editor, you need to switch from VISUAL to TEXT. TEXT is the code view. Using a WP Editor, like Divi, you also need to insert the link as code. On a basic HTML website you would need to be able to do some simple HTML coding. WordPress Classic Editor may be easier.

Using a WP Builder like Divi or Elementor. From my reading, the Shortcode needs to be created in the WP editor, then it can be copy and pasted into the builder wherever it needs to go with the Shortcode module or the TEXT view in the Text module.

So let’s forget all that coding for now and look at these plugins. But which one. I have not used any of these yet, these are my research notes to pick one.

Amazon uses a ASIN number, kinda like a UPC, to identify products. These WP plugins help you browse and find these ASINs to import products to your website. ASINs are in the product details and also the URL (see some of these videos for more information).

Pricing is often the first consideration. The plugins that have an annual cost are greedy, charging the same price every year, but sometimes they might have the options you need. The best pricing, to my mind, is an initial price, with small annual cost for extended support. Others will be a flat fee or even free. Some offer free versions to give you a chance to try it before upgrading to the Pro version. And finally, some have a money back guarantee, some don’t. Note, most plugins will continue working if you do not renew, but will have limits, such as: no support, no updates to the plugin, and you might not be able to create any new additions.

A couple of places to look for WordPress plugins:
